Sad news indeed. I don't know the full details of Knut's career etc. and I never knew him but, as a fan, I remember he always seemed to be a name in the background responsible for some top machinery. The Harlan Thompson era, for example, is etched on my and my brother's memory and was always a highlight at one of the big Pod events.

Shocked to hear the sad news. Harlan and Knut were a good combination. Especially at the Cannonball events. Watch them with Bill schultz in the mid 90s as a kid. A sad loss. RIP Knut.

Very sad to hear the news. He was a giant character at Santa Pod, extremely likable and never boring, the consumate showman was never better than with a bottle of grip juice in his hand conducting dry hops. I used to hang around his cars so much as a kid and ask so many questions that he gave me a Budweiser shirt completely out of the blue, not just any Budweiser shirt but a team shirt. Covered in clutch dust and Kendall with a few holes here and there? Sure, but it was treasured, still is and allways will be. His Funny Cars were the best looking things at the track and brought a sense of the bigtime. Generous of spirit and generous in the bar the loss of this lovable rogue marks the end of an era. It's an untimely end. I feel we've been somewhat robbed and that we're poorer for it.

Goodbye Knut.
