rv3 worlds fastest street car ? or slow pro mod ?
Discussion
Tax (exempt), MOT and has run on the street. So it's street legal. This makes it the fastest Street Legal car around. If I put slicks on my car and filled the tank with the stuff Andy uses, I'd still come second. The rules under which this record exists are open to everyone and no one else has taken it yet...
If you want to apply a purist view and create an alternate record (say treads and pump gas) then maybe we shouldn't run on sticky surfaces either. My street has loads of potholes and raised manholes
I think we should celebrate this record, as the publicity for the sport is worth having.

is this the enthusiast reincarnated? or more recently dodgeomini?
Probably not,as no-one is a bigger f**kwit than that guy.Seriously, not everyone likes the car. That is fine. But they need to get over it, as we're not going away anytime soon..
But,to start a thread like this shows f**kwittery on a grand scale.

We spent 3 years on 3 forums around the world telling people what we were going to do. Then we actually do what we said we would, and they're surprised???
Maybe some people would like us to not shout about what we've done?
To them it's a middle finger big style.
Thanks everyone for chiming in for me.

Who could fail to like your car, I love your car, your car is ace. Everyone likes your car, only an ignorant wouldn't. Where the problem lies for some is it's not a streetable car. For some an MOT is simply not enough.Seriously, not everyone likes the car.
Your car is a Pro Mod race car prepared for an MOT, in doing so you have handicapped it as far as out and out ProModishness goes with weight and other stuff that's required by the DOT and not by the FIA, but that's fine because you have got peoples attention with the car and the "record" and the media coverage. Some people are more concerned with racing than media coverage, some people are more concerned with media coverage than racing, horses for courses and all that. Your choice.
But I reckon you'll ditch the MOT when you get the ol' girl running swiss watch style and start going a few rounds. As for shouting about what you've done; keep it up till you have a sore throat. It's fantastic publicity for you and the sport and I applaud you for it. I'd urge you to bare in mind though, being a purist (as far as streetable street legal cars go), and holding an opinion on your car that you may not share does not necessarily mean they deserve the middle finger.

But in the end,as i fund it,it matters most to me. So whatever i choose it to be is my choice,as you alluded..Your car is a Pro Mod race car prepared for an MOT, in doing so you have handicapped it as far as out and out ProModishness goes with weight and other stuff that's required by the DOT and not by the FIA, but that's fine because you have got peoples attention with the car and the "record" and the media coverage. I have a plan for the car. So far we're on schedule, albeit a little behind in time. When the team is ready to push different boundaries then we'll go about it in our own way, like we've always done.
All the publicity we gain is for one reason. "Street legal". That is why the world is interested, wether it be good or bad. We took on a challenge that people thought couldn't be done outside of the USA. We made it doubly hard doing it from here, but with the help from the US,UK,Canada and AUS we rose to the challenge and made it happen. We'll see what comes of it at the end of the year i'm sure.
There is no doubt that the car is the quickest and fastest street legal car in the world. To get that title doesn't mean it has to be driven 1000's of miles. It means that it has to be taxed/tested.insured and has driven on the street, which there is video evidence of it doing just that. It's a numbers game, and we have the ET and speed number.

I think Andy's car rocks. It is street legal and has been driven on the street so that really answers that one. As for "slow pro mod", im sure that there have been come compromises - but i dont think Andy would build the car if he didnt think it _could_ be competitive in either UK or European Pro Mod - dependant on his budget for travelling with the car.
Seems some people are pretty quick to say its a slow pro mod - im sure that there is still further development going on, and further learning and tuning to happen - I mean how many meetings has the car seen so far? How many new cars do you see come out and run there best numbers in there first couple of real meetings? Normally from what ive seen it takes a little while for the team to learn what the car does, how to get it to run at its best, what improvements could be made to meet the teams end goal.
Also really its down to what Andy actually wants - its his car!

A far quicker (purpose built) ProMod could probably be MADE (just) street legal SOMEWHERE, that would be the equivalent of a Liberian ship registration (flag of convenience), maybe Texas, maybe Alaska, who knows, but Andy is a brit (well, almost, bostin) so UK law applies, Id like to see some "street legal" cars pass a UK MOT......and then run as quick on pump gas sold HERE
mind you, it is slow int it....lol
