Blackbushe Dragfest 50th anerversary meet planned 2014

Drag racer Paul Foote who has organized the monthly hot rod/yank meets at Blackbushe has taken it further to organize a 50th anniversary reunion meet at Blackbushe in 2014 (also the 30th anniversary of the last meet)

Sadly no racing as it will be held on the old disused runway which is too short and in a poor condition.

"We have permission in principle to hold a
2 day Blackbushe Reunion event in 2014.
This will celebrate 50 years since the
first event in 1964. The event will be
held on the disused section of the
airstrip and will have cars from UK and
US as well as racers from here and the
USA. There is a possibility of a couple
of famous groups performing from the 70's
as well as trade stands, car show and
much more. The starting condition for
permission is to get an indication of how
many people will come to the event.

I have been to a couple of the meets at Blackbushe so far, been quite a good turnout considering the freezing cold!
Sounds like it could be a good event if permission is granted.
