I am intending to go to Santa Pod to Main Event at end of May. A couple of friends are coming who have never seen a dragster in their lives but are serious racing fans. I've been an infrequent visitor to the Pod since the days of Skilton, Priddle and Herridge - God that dates me- and all I need to know is- which is the best day to attend? I know it's a 4 day event my ideal would be smaller crowd but lots of action from the quick stuff.

I would advise you to go on the day that has the best weather.

I normally go on the last day pre race { Sunday im this case} as it's not quite so busy { though still full} and the roads back are quieter}. As somebody else said weather is critical so look at the forecast a day or 2 before you go.

Friday! Some of the closest/best bracket racing in the world! biggrin

For the proper racing I would say Sunday as they are all trying to get into the field (the qualifiying one not the muddy one)

Hell yeh! Fridays are always my favorite day (bizzarly) just lye back, get the beers out and enjoy. For the European stuff it's difficult to say, Saturday runs aren't always the best because the pro teams need time to dial into the track, last qualifying on Sunday is usually brilliant and then obviously eliminations on Monday

Couldn't pick a single day, first day as Pete said is quality with 5-7 rounds of qualifying for sportsman classes, Euro Finals last year saw what was probably one of the tightest 32 car bracket fields in the world. Something like .04 off your dial-in to qualify no.32

But for a first timer, nitro is what they want. So if it has to be one day I'd say last day of Pro qualifying, so in this case the Sunday.
