first time at santapod for a couple of years but wow it was cold. surprised there was any big power cars that made it down the new track at all. The Higher power promods and funnycars struggled quite a lot.
very surprised to learn that the guy driving the blue methanol funny car had no experience what so ever in any drag car was trying to license in freezing weather conditions and slippery track, Respect to him and sorry for the crashed willys promod, hope he was ok.
Apart from the cold i quite enjoyed it. the side shows were lame but the racing was still good, successful first meeting of the year i think.

The "guy" driving the blue methanol dragster was actually a girl... and she did brilliantly!Massive Congratulations to Birgitte Bremnes on gaining her Top Methanol licence... especially on a new track in such cold conditions!!!!
Gareth did good in that car
no licence yet but not surprising in those conditions but he has had some valuable seat time and ran as fast as i did in my pro mod which was all the track would allow from a low downforce high power car,
of cource the Girl did good too
but in a very different type of car.....they were both brave

Yeah the young lady done good too. My understanding is that dragsters are relatively easy to drive compared to short wheelbase cars. Can anyone confirm. I'm not experienced with either just what I see from the stands. Funny cars and promods really look like a handful even on good tracks.
Dragsters are the mut's nuts on the track. Everywhere else, they are a royal pain in the proverbial. Storing and maneuvering them around is often problematic, they need long trailers and are generally regarded as a bit nancy by doorslammer/funny car/altered teams. I'd say they were the right tool if you want to get all the advantages for Super Pro or Super Comp.
I love 'em, but that's me.
