I thought Flickr gave exit info?

at the bottom right of the screen there are three dots, click there then click on exit info

Presumably you mean exif (the exchangeable image format), not exit.

found the three dots at the top of the screen but no exit info just a menu of galleries, tags etc....

please excuse my being thick but what does this do?

It shows you all the camera settings for that photo - iso, focal length, shutter speed, camera, aperture etc etc

So if you like a shot, look at the exif data and that way you'll have an idea what you need to do to replicate it

thanks mate, as I said this is all new to me and all I did was point and shoot!!
