The top one is Vanishing Point 1, the original Vega with the legendary paint scheme. The car was crashed at the fireworks meeting 1979, so the pic you have there is either 1979 or late 1978.
As already stated, the second car is Graham Hawes 'Black Magic' BB/FC. Again, could well be 1979 or early '80s. Could that be a very young JB standing at the back of the Black Magic car?

I took the photos but my wife has kept them and we have no dates or personal points of reference in them
I was definitely at a meeting where Sammy either crashed or had a lot of trouble at the top end because I remember the ambulance stopping about quarter track and Sammy getting out to walk wobberly (I wrongly thought initially that it was for comic effect) to the xmas tree for an interview, didn't think it was a firework meet but I don't know
I definitely saw that car run at a few meetings, Vanishing Point runs even I can't forget, they were truly spectacular, I think I saw a 306 mph/ 4.0 sec (all approx) pass, amazing (sorry I know we've been over this before)
I've got just another couple more of equally poor quality photos from that time if anyone is interested I'll post them

Sue Coles' car was Helzapoppin. Looks quite similar but as its such a poor quality photo we will never be certain.
Yes I remember that car now
Bit of a mystery why the photo's so dark yet the strip lights don't look like they're on, you can see the (built-in) flash bounce
Sorry about photo quality as I've said the photos are from cheap cameras (possible all 110 size film if you are old enough to know what that is) with nearly 30 years of dissintergration and scanners don't cope well with matt finish photos

Hey, no worries on the quality, you have some memories in print which is a rarity in itself. I just have my rusty memory to rely on or my mothers set of ageing albums!
If you have any more to jog memories it would be a bonus.

I'm the same as you I've only got my near non-existance memory and only these poor photos which my wife kept and no more - I throw all my photos away years ago, now I regret it
I didn't think you were critising only stating the true fact
