Sundays Santa Pod rained off.
Discussion
I got up early. Travelled for over two hours thirty mins. Got to the gates to find that it's been rained off.
So referring to the website it seems that I get my £29 back to pick another event at the Pod to go to.
This would have been my first time at a drag racing event and I was really looking forward to the day.
So bar the Main Event next year. When is there another similar event?
I was wanted to see the dragsters, hot rods, bikes and well the lot really but I can see them not all being shown on one day till this time next year.
So what are your recommendations?
Will I have to quietly wait 365 days? Or can I go to an event mid June (at Le Mans till Mon 18th) onwards?

Were you going to spectate or take photograph's (just looked at you web site).
If the latter, I would recomend the Summer National's (June 16/17). The crowd will be much
smaller so viewing/photography will be better. The FIA cars will not be there, but it's
still a good quality field in my opinion.
By the way, as Drag racing is totally dependant on dry weather, I think I would have glanced at the weather forecast before a two and a half hour journey.
If Tog reads this I promise I won't use the words weather & forecast in the same sentence again !

David,my sympathies for a wasted day out.You should us asked us here.Im a died in the wool drag fan, and already basically written this meet off due to weather.
Peters right, tho, for pure photo use, a smaller meet is better.
If you like muscle cars, then the event at the end of July would be good, the Mopar nats.

checked the weather forecasts submitted by others in another thread all week... planned for the Saturday anyway (2.5hour drive from Dorset), and what a day to take the missus along. It couldn't have been a better day for her as she'd hadn't been to the drags since Aug Bank Hol 2002, 7 months pregnant.
We had a fantastic day from 0930hrs to 2000hrs.
My only gripe if it can be called one, was I struggled to find a replacement hat to my worn out Firestorm one. Without sounding like a petulant child... I didn't want another Firestorm hat! Ended up with a So-Cal one in the end.
