I see that the smoking ban is hitting shakespear county race way! does anyone know if the ban will apply to the stands also??

No i wouldnt think so, it would apply to the enclosed areas like the bar(s) and vans that sell stuff to you (although they prob dont anyway on the vans) The ban appies to enclosed areas that house staff that serve the public- thats basic but essentially it.

I'm sure diligaf will be along in a while to confirm how extensive the ban is.. I doubt it will apply to the stands as they are or not enclosed..

It has very little to do with the environment. In fact I don't think I have heard one voice mention reduced carbon emmisions from people not smoking in enclosed spaces.

As a non-smoker I can't say it bothers me, I'm just looking forward to being able to go to the pub and come home not smelling like the bottom of an ashtray.

Indeed, it is terrible when you go out on a bender and come home smelling of bottom. That kind of thing should be illegal!
