Pat on the back for Jon C for achieving his first class honours degree nerd

Just remind me never to introduce you to my other half so as to avoid a borefest on the subject of Time Team yikes

Congratulations. Although of course, anyone who's anyone knows that the one true degree classification is a Vorderman :-)

After disappearing from the start line several years ago I thought Jon had gone off and become a trappist monk!

Thankfully, a determined effort to change career direction was the cause and hearty congratulations are due for Jon successfully achieving (in Tet terms) a Geoff Hurst (or First class Honours). Well done, Jon! And further congratulations as well for getting into the teacher training programme at no lesser place than Homerton College, Cambridge

Oh, you guys....

It's been a hard few years, and having to alter my priorities has been one of the hardest parts of it. Changing career so utterly and completely is no small undertaking, and I really couldn't have done it without the help of Jane and the Family. Those who know me well will also be aware that I lost my mum after a long illness just before easter, and I know she was guiding me at the end as well.

I thank you all for you good wishes. I wish I could join you in Sweden, but be assured that I will be there, sunblock and sombrero at the ready, on whatever is left of the banking in September.

And if anyone else is finding themselves stuck in a rut, try something completely different. Mum told me once, "It is better to regret something you did, rather than regret something you didn't do".

Thanks again

JC
