hunchback racing's 1953 Volvo PV444

Has this car ever come ot the UK and if not, how can they be persuaded?
To us Volvo enthusiasts this car is the holy grail, especially as it's producing ~1070hp, running in the 7's and still running a full cooling system on an original block and head.

I emailled Holset about information on their turbos and they replied that they're not suitable for petrol engines as the turbine will melt. I pointed out the hundreds of high hp cars that are using their turbos and in particular this one. I'm still awaiting a reply. tongue out

That is an exceedingly cool car, I saw it at Mantorp Park a couple of years ago and it is amazing. Even the paint is fantastic quality with a supreme depth and shine to it. Everything on the car demonstrates an amazing eye for detail and the finish is immaculate throughout.

I don't think it has ever been to England but I would love to see it here, maybe as more people enter Comp at FIA meetings more Scandanavian Comp racers will be tempted over?

I have always liked these Volvo's since we saw some very tastefully rodded examples in Sweden in the 80's could this car run in Super pro? I would love to see that race over here, it looks amazing!

Why have these people got to some over here? It costs very little to go to Sweden and then you get to see all their other beautiful vehicles too.

I like that parachute shot on their Home Page biggrin

Actually, I've found that reputation to be largely unjustified. The prices in Sweden are not noticably more expensive than here in London. Now Norway, on the other hand...

Tet's right, Sweden really isn't as expensive as people make out/it used to be

If my Volvo restoration/race car wasn't crippling me financially I'd seriously consider it as I have friends in Sweden and Norway.
