Today (16th August) is the tenth anniversary of the first four-second Top Fuel Dragster pass in Europe. We weren't going to let that one go unmarked...

Very Good Feature Tog
Hard to believe it was 10 years ago.
Looking forward will we ever see a 3 second pass or was the four the last big milestone ?
I think it terms of mechanical/engineering ability a 3 second pass will never happen, although I think the next milestone will be a 4 from a TAD Hard to believe it was 10 years ago.

Hi Tog, Racers & RaceFans !I just recover from the 22nd NitrolympX where I had the pleasure to comment :
the first 4,7 sec. run on the Hockenheim Quartermile by Lex Joon,
the 5,57 track record for TMD by Pat Schöfer ,
the 6,35 track record for PM by Norbert Kuno,
the 7,5 track record for SSB by Dave Smith,
and the 5,5 of Eric Teboul, no bike ever has done a quicker time than the french Rocket Biker.
Great respect for all those involved in these awesome performances.....
I will never forget how I almost went bananas when I saw the first 4 on the computer screen and scoreboards,
and how I almost hit a dent in the speaker´s container from the inside by jumping around,
no "relaxed-and-calm-BBC-style-announcing" that time, hehe.
As it was stated in eurodragster´s great interview,
everybody was chasing the "first 4" at that time,
and in the 97 season I thought :
"Please don´t do it in Mantorp, I won´t even be there,
do it in Santa Pod where I can at least see / photograph it !"
But -to be honest- I thought :
"Please wait till Hockenheim with that first 4, so I may comment it !!!"....

Oh well, sometimes a dream comes true, was that really 10 years ago ??
CU @ the Finals,
Benni
€dited because I almost forgot Dave´s record............

€dited again....oh boy, what a fluke....5 sec. PMs yet to come in europe,
thanks Jim for the polite reminder..*makesnote*:should get more sleep..
