So, who's going to be there?

I'm trying to swap some shifts around to ensure I can make it but wondered if I'd get a chance to say hello to any of the posters here.

I'm trying to get some of the UK Turbobricks guys to come, because Santa Pod is not a good place to be on your own- done it once many years ago and will never do it again! Looks like there will be a few of us and I've promised to fabricate another special BBQ for the event (I'm kinda known for BBQ's- you'd never have guessed, would ya?), but it would be nice to say hello to some of the regulars whilst there, since it's almost 200 miles from Blackpool!!!!

So, heads up! Who's racing, who's spectating and who's propping the bar up?

SPR have not yet asked for volunteers but when they do the plan is that I should be able to answer "Me biggrin ".

It's just you and me by the sound of things BBQ. I'll put in passes and you can applaud when I break my PB, or laugh when I don't.

I've started the design and construction of a special BBQ for this event. It's my take on a gas fired barbecue.
€the last one was made from a 45 gallon drum and three shopping trollies- this one will be smaller and more practical. I have no need to be able to cook 25 1/4 pounders at once this time round!!! hehe

To be honest, I'd be surprised if you don't break it, and by at least a tenth, I'd say. Even on a marginal track.

My prospective ride got through the UK National Finals unscathed...hopefully I'm on for an altitude record if nothing else biggrin

...and if I'm not mistaken, it ran close to a personal best for that car. To be honest, I'm pleased for them that they seem to have got things sorted and are back running the numbers. The trips back to London to change an engine mid-meeting were getting beyond a joke. You can't fault their dedication, though!

I'll be looking out for a scrap but straight fuel or methanol rod as a pattern if any of you guys would be interested in very cheap rods made in the same foundry as the Eagle ones?

I've got a TF and Pro-Stock rod sat on my desk in the office at the mo.. Very nice paper weights and talking points!

How many rods do you want? See me Saturday night at the Flame & Thunder. First come first served. Some are perfect. Just not in my combination anymore.

I just need one, Bob. I'll send it to my friend in Seattle who'll check to see if the Foundry already makes it. If not, he'll do a drawing, get a prototype made and I'll then see how many people want new rods.
