Seems odd/a shame to have got what looks like a complete car and never actually use it.
Yes, but it's relatively easy to get a car to a state where it looks complete, and will be suitable for shows. It can still look complete and yet be deceptively far from being ready for track use. You only need to take a look at the Santa Pod top fuel car for proof of that...Furyous said:
Agrred, but Im sure Ive seen a clip of it actually running ?
Seems there testing different parts at the moment:http://www.nhracing.com/latest_news.htm
Seems more promising...

It did (and was also banged off at a later date, but don't go asking me for details, I know naffin). The thing to remember though is, despite being able to fire it up, it doesn't mean it's ready. It's all too easy to bang it off and then say "lets go racing". But as soon as you do that, you'll either forget or ignore the 101 little things that would make it the complete package desired at the outset.
that's my excuse anyway...
Firstly, on behalf of Nobby and everyone associated with the team, thanks for the interest (and speculation ??) in the car.
There is not much to add that isn't on the www.nhracing.com website. The car has been fired up on numerous occasions as we have tested new fuel settings and equipment. The next stage of testing is underway with clutch settings and so on.
The comments above are correct that there is still some way to make the car race ready, we have never denied that but we are making progress and are pleased with what we have learnt over the last few weeks and months.
There are a handful of people that have done what we are doing that know what its like. Nobody says its easy. Nobby summed it up a week or so ago. "It wasn't easy in the 80's, it sure as hell isn't easier now !"
Thanks again for your interest and comments.
