Could indeed be a big deal for him.. 4/10 for agent 1320 though..European Top Fuel champion pictured... driving an alcohol funny car ??!
Wheelbase limits relaxed?Another thing i think Urs will benefit from is the free 'Blue box' that Ford is providing all Nitro teams.
This could hopefully spread to Europe and help ensure and prevent safety here.

Yes, I know it's likely to help out in terms of safety of the sport as a whole. But the cynic in me can't help wondering how much data from the other teams' cars will find its way to JFR...should be a good deal for Urs and can't do the FIA Top Fuel image any harm either
regarding the blue boxes, its something that makes sense, I can't understand why so many yanks on other message boards are so negative about them, they want steps forward to promote safety yet complain? go figure, it allows gathering of real world data which is so much more useful than theoretical tests

Hmmmm....
Urs Erbacher making plans to divide his race program between Europe and the NHRA.
Thomas Nataas announces his retirement from top fuel until there are more rounds in the FIA series.
Lex Joon writing repeatedly in his blog about his plans and preparations to run stateside.
Gardermoen not running FIA again, and no sign of a return to Hockenheim for the FIA either.
The sceptical could begin to see a pattern emerging...

Hockenheim are hard at work trying to get their event back to FIA/FIM for 2008 and if not for then almost certainly for 2009 but the future doesnt look good for norway as an FIA event..Urs Erbacher making plans to divide his race program between Europe and the NHRA.

Anybody know anything about the ad on ED Cars Wanted section that's been there since the 11th? I assume it's genuine?
I realise the Dollar is very weak at the moment, and this may make a new US chassis seem more attractive. However if (as is the impression given) time is more of an issue than money, then I am sure Mats Eriksson could find a time slot.
Also, Urs, The Anderssons and others seem to do very well with second hand chassis, of which there is a positive sufeit stateside.
And if the person concerned is willing to consider renting a ride, Rune and Knut are both really easy to get hold of. It seems likely that someone whose plans were as far advanced as the advert suggests would already be moving in such circles anyway.
I for one look forward to seeing this particular project backing up from the burnout.

That was my thought, and it makes me doubtful about the authenticity of the ad. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 4 chassis in Europe that would be available to rent until the new car arrives (maybe needing some minor upgrades, but that's easily fixed). It seems inconceivable that anyone seriously considering Top Fuel next year would not be aware of them too...jpw90 said:
Someone (that would be in the know, but i wont name them) said this at the flame and thunder event, and as for drivers Dave Wilson has already shown that he his very keen to move up
Oh really? Read Eurodragster. You might find something along the lines of fact.
Good things come to those who wait.

In my oppinnion I think that the ad on ED is bogus. The Swap meet is a great outlet for selling and buying but with all due respects would be the last place to ask where to find a new or nearly new TF chassis. With all that money available, jump on a plane, go see Schumacher or Kallita, part with some $$$, arrange shipping, fly home, job done. It reads to me just like an extension of the BS we have been reading about on this forum lately. I know exactly who it is but can't say right now.

I agree. However, unusual as it is, it is not without precedent on the Swap Meet.Bob Jarrett said:

Decaf just came out of my nose, couldn't have put it better myself
