tyre width and rim width

reet, ive been thinking that tyre width is same as normal road use, ie 9" wide rim is 255.

but had a guy offer us standard gts-t alloys, about 7" width rim, with a 10" wide tyre.

how do you work out what best tyre size suits.

as im trying to way up costs at the moment for two type of wheels, gtr alloys, 8" wide 16's or 8.5" wide z32 alloys

z32 are the wheels of choice but you may well find you dont have the traction problems you imagine
