Motorcycle Superchargers
Discussion
to follow on from my last thread is there anyone out there that knows anything about motorcycle superchargers? ive been looking at the 3 options, turbos, nitrous and superchargers to see which is more viable in the future. ive ruled out nitrous, i dont like playing with the stuff and i want a car that i can keep taking to rwyb and other places and dont have to worry about filing bottles all the time. so i was thinking about a turbo or supercharger, nothing fancy, something that is street/strip kinfd of power, for instance ive looked at the zx 14 or hayabusa which are 190bhp standard, and want to put out around 250bhp. ive already looked at the tts performance products which seem extremely good but does anyone know of any other companies out there?

Hi Adam !
For screw-type Superchargers, check out http://www.sprintex.com.au/index.asp ,
they feature kits for Harley V-Rod, but they also have a supercharger calculator
and an enquiry form at their page.
They are sold via Zodiac/NL, the company of H-D dragracing "godfather" Ton Pels,
I don´t know if anyone in the UK also has them (zodiac page for UK dealers?).
For centrifugal chargers, try http://www.procharger.com/motorcycle.shtml ,
thy seem to offer kits for H-Ds only, but they also have a catalogue and
might be able to answer your "Busa Question" .
I think Mark "The Big Chief Hooligan" Pointer runs a VERY big one
on his Fordson drag panel van, he might answer the "UK dealer" stuff.
Oh, and a quick search brought this: http://www.tts-performance.com/busasupercharged.ph... ,
they seem to have just what you are looking for.

They are based in Silverstone.
Do you want to have charge all the time or just sometimes ?
Some of these systems offer a "by-pass valve" ,
but if you have an injected engine, you might also be able to drive the
charger via an "electric clutch pulley" which is nromally used for air conditions.
Then you should have a modified/programmable motronic unit with two setups,
one for normal and one for mental mode............
If you want to build your own kit, try out a SLK blower from the mercedes scrapyard,
Andy Fuhrmann has run it on a super street bike (wich is 4sale now) :
