My Dad keeps asking me why is Santa Pod called Santa Pod, everytime I see him "have you found out yet?"

So, does anyone know?

Pod I guess because it's in Poddington but where does Santa come in to it?

Wiki knows everything: "The track was named Santa Pod after the Santa Ana strip in America, combined with the name of the local village of Podington"

Also, many of the USAF airmen based there came from the Santa Ana area, and in order to make the place a little more homely, they referred to the place as Santa Pod as long ago as the early 1940's
