First of all I have not the first clue so....
One idea is that they were too late to enter because entries closed. Or it's such a super stunning fast class they have been asked to put on a good show by Santa Pod. Which lets face it, they do.
Who knows! Just enjoy.. mmmm racceecarrrssss!

how come pateman and the rest of the street eliminator guys dont join in with comp eliminator instead of doing exhibition runs?
Because they have been invited to represent Street Eliminator, as opposed to racing. This would have been on yesterday's news but for reasons you will understand it's had to wait until today.i just hope that they are on the proper main evnt roster soon, i love street eliminator and i think they do a great job at representing british drag racing, if theres any class out there currently not racing at the euo rounds they surely should be....problem is who else would you drop!...its a difficult one! same goes for superstreet bike and the NFAA, both put on a great show, and deserve to be there. the only fair way i can see of doin it is a rotation system. street elim, super stret bike and nfaa at the main event in place of super comp, and super street and then rotate it for teh euro finals, that way everyone gets a shot at racing at teh european rounds.

Problem is that the NDRS rounds are at the FIA events at Santa Pod...Edited by Flying Toilet on Wednesday 14th May 11:55
I think it's great Street Eliminator are there to represent themselves, they would be a awesome addition to the european events.
As for the NFAA, I have a feeling they might well clash with TA/FC and AA/FC at the large FIA rounds, so I think thats why they aren't included. But from the perspective of someone who writes the cheques for the car, financially the schedule we have I think is more than enough, anymore and it could make cars like ours miss a few rounds for financial reasons. That said however, it would be nice to run a FIA event with the altered.
And the super classes (SC, SG and SST) will always be at european events because they are classes sanctioned by the NHRA, plus they are good to watch, you always get close races.

having said that i suppose with the inclusion of comp eliminator now that anyone wishing to enter a car that doesnt fit within the other classes has a way to do so...still think that super street bike should definately included, they look great, go like s""t off a shovel, plus i like bikes and only having 3 classes compared to the amount of car classes is a shame.
I'm in two minds about this. One the one hand, I love Street Eliminator. It's one of the classes that really got me hooked when I first started watching racing, and I'd love to see the SE cars racing at the big meetings, where there are large crowds to impress (and hopefully get more people involved in the sport).
Yet on the other hand, I can't help feeling a little hard done by. Sportsman ET was dropped from the FIA rounds this year (as 9.50 bike was last year). As I understand it, this was because the growth in numbers in all of the classes has meant both a lack of time to give everyone sufficient track time, and a lack of pit space. So it's a bit of a kick in the teeth to see Street Eliminator being invited along as an exhibition class. This is particularly true given that the replacement round (Big Bang) was only a 1 day event[1], rather than the 4 days of the Main Event.
I fully understand that Street Eliminator are a crowd pleaser where frankly, Sportsman ET isn't. But still... :-(
[1] It's a 3 day event, but I believe the MSA permit is only for the last day, and hence that's the only time that qualifying runs can take place -- the other days are treated as RWYB testing. I didn't go this year, but from what I understand the permit was extended, so that some qualifying runs were allowed at the end of the second day, which is a step in the right direction. But it's still far from a suitable replacement for the Main Event.

theres no way most NFAA cars could fit in comp eliminator, all too big motors and too light
for AA/A Kenneth Feldthussen's car with a 463ci KB has to weigh approx 2300lbs, and the alky NFAA cars are anything from 481ci up to 526
yeh sorry i didnt mean nfaa, pretty obvious they couldnt race in comp eliminatr but i mean classes like street elim, vw pro, super mod etcfor AA/A Kenneth Feldthussen's car with a 463ci KB has to weigh approx 2300lbs, and the alky NFAA cars are anything from 481ci up to 526

And what would be?Much as it may be unpleasant for me this season, I have to admit that dropping 9.50 bike and Sportsman ET from the FIA events was probably the right thing to do. But it just seems that the replacement meetings currently fall short of providing a proper championship round for those classes.

Bob is putting the 526ci BAE from dereks TMD into his topolino, and the Big block from the topolino is going/gone into the dragster..the plan is to race it at main event then sell it afterwards. The topo should be out for 2009.
