Yet another factoid from the M.E. entry list

Roger Johansson.

830 c.i.

13.6 litres.

Is this the biggest displacement V8 ever seen in European Drag Racing competition?

Did John Dodd ever race his car or was it RWYB only? I have seen pics of it on the track.

That was the yellow car with the Rolls Royce Melin motor and RR grill that got him into trouble with RR...

The 830ci motor shown for Roger on the Main Event entry list is is NOT a typo, as thought on this topic on another forum. Roger bought the motor from Gene Fulton himself, during his recent US trip - see:-

http://www.mdrf.se/

There's a teasing bit in the report that 'sort of' gives the game away: "Stooort i Pro Mod Nu är det tillåtet med 900 cui för lustgasbilarna i Pro Mod! Fränt så det räcker och blir över.." Which, although peppered with Swedish slang, roughly says: "Now that 900 Cu Inch is allowed in Pro Mod. That's more than enough. Cool/heavy" - you get the drift.

The mystery about the new motors and regulations is cleared completely, if you click on the following:-

http://www.promod.nu/newseng.asp?ID=309

So who's going to be the first to run 900 inch?

I have a new favorite sentence. I dont know what Lustgasbilarna means, but its a word I intend to use whenever possible from now on.

I dont think John Dodds car ever ran in competition, and I think if it ever ran on all cylinders, it broke driveshafts like carrots, so I cant imagine it was ever leaned on!

Bil I know is 'car' or Motor' (as in Bilsport magazine)

I will, from now on, refer to Nitrous Oxide as 'Lustgas', and I urge all right thinking people to do likewise...

During the Finals 'Pro stock crew chiefs burnout' competition about 10 years ago, one of the commentators said that in Scandinavia, burnouts were measured on the 'Helander' scale
