only a 50/50 chance of me going so the weather isnt an issue, i can watch ED instead and get geared up for the following weekend at shakey
So, just because you might not be there, the weather doesn't matter?I am sure that will be great consolation to all those racers who regularly spend a small fortune travelling a fifth of a way round the planet to chase championships and to entertain you. So long as you are warm and toasty, eh, thats all that matters.
Some people...
Can we have a ban on mentioning the weather please? What ever will be, will be, and there is two parts of bugger all we can do about it. Lets look on the bright side, and look forward to a top class weekend of world class drag racing.
having been one of the many who have made the trip, and spent the money (since 1975 "just" as a fan) i fully understand the ramifications of bad weather, i didnt mean to encourage or summon the rain gods, I wish a jolly fine weekend for all, with safe and fast runs.........
and no rain

I'm guessing it's the little K9-type device that Per and Karsten have developed. They've had it out on the track both in Europe and at some of the NHRA meetings. I can't find a picture right now, but I'm sure there have been a few on Eurodragster and elsewhere.Hows that work then ?

Ask and ye shall receive :-) There's one on Eurodragster's coverage today...http://www.eurodragster.com/santapod/live/2008fiamainevent/pictures/propeakperformanceday/pic34.htm
Is it just my memory being faulty, or is it smaller than it used to be?
Tet is correct, the Shark is a traction 'measuring' device that Per and Kartsen developed. Get to the track early enough in the morning this weekend and you will see a member of the team walking it up both lanes. Data is logged on the Shark and analysed back in the pits.
