Equipment or suggestions required please.

The TVR club had a run through the lake district earlier in the year ending with a little fun on Kirkbride airfiled (North Cumbria).
A simple affair using walkie talkies, you were counted down at the start and a second guy stopped the watch as you passed him further up the runway.
By my guess at about 2/3 of a mile.
It wasnt competetive but a chance to get the cars up to speeds that arent usually experienced on the public highway.

This event is to be repeated on Sept 28th and we wish to measure a fairly accurate 1/2 mile and get more accurate times and possibly top speeds.
Any suggestions as to where we can get hold of some equipment or ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I can help on this if you want 1/4 mile times and speeds. Our portatree system has a full christmas tree start lights. With this setup we can time two lanes and measure the following, reaction times, 60ft times , 1/8 mile & 1/4 mile times and speeds. We also have scoreborads that can be viewed from 200 feet away plus you get printed tickets for each run.

Not at all, we have run our timing equipment at an event in Belgium so don't worry about the distance.
