The fact that they're asking for donations implies that the building wasn't insured. I can't off the top of my head think of many legitimate reasons for that...
I'd think it more along the lines of the personal items lost in the fire, either way I'm quite happy to donate, without those guys we would have no racing, and I know that should the worst one day happen that they would be there.MotorPsycho said:

Hence the thread title....I've edited this posted to add that the original link was to the ED news report on Tuesday (9th). It seems that this has been "bumped" to the headline, for the next day (I'm guessing that it should be the headline for at least a couple of days, to raise awareness for our friends from mainland Europe who are just getting home Etc). Maybe Tog can post the donation details on here?

Having passed my self-imposed two-day post-race embargo on visiting forums, here I am.
Firstly can I say that if you have not read the statement from Human Touch on yesterday's (Tuesday's) news then please do read it.
Bowler you have it exactly right, the news item is going to be left at the top of Eurodragster.com news probably until Friday and for exactly the reason you state.
CRR is also exactly right and thanks for the nice words. No-one asked for donations. A collection was mooted on Sunday but given the way Sunday turned out it was very difficult to organise. Eurodragster.com has a PayPal account so we were well-placed to get going immediately. Human Touch were only told what we were up to after we had set it up and they were gobsmacked and of course very grateful.
At time of writing we have gone through £1200 with the vast majority of that from fans including contributors to this thread (to whom many thanks).
If you would like to contribute then if you have a PayPal account you can send money to donations@eurodragster.com. If you do not have a PayPal account then you can contribute by credit or debit card as follows:
1. Go to www.eurodragster.com/payment
2. Click on the PayPal Donate! button (yes, even though you don't have a PayPal account, trust me this will work)
3. This brings up a PayPal donations page. Enter your amount at the top of the page and click on the button to update the total, then if you look at the bottom left of the page there is an option to pay by credit or debit card. The rest should be self-evident.
If that doesn't work or if you don't do electronic payment then obviously we can take a cheque, drop me an E-Mail for details.
