I know this is already on Eurodragster but I want to spread the word as much as I can...

UK blown-alcohol altered team Bennett Racing displayed their Topolino at sponsors The Plough and Tractor pub in Basildon at the weekend. "We went down very well indeed", says Luke Bennett. "We also fired the car up and the crowd loved it, although a few of them ran off when we revved it! We also had banners and posters up to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer support, and managed to raise £270 on the day. The donation buckets have been left in the pub all week so we will see how much more we have raised soon. A big thank you also to the rodders that came along - thanks for your support.

We will be bringing the Macmillan buckets to the National Finals so if you have any spare change then please drop by and donate, it's a very good cause."

a very worthy cause

so many "causes" get excessive public funding when such as the macmillan has to fund raise.

Macmillan is a charity very close to my heart. They made such a difference to my mum, and just made so many of the mundane problems go away so that she could concentrate on the important stuff for the last 3 months.

When she was in the Hospice to stabilise her pain relief, she had a couple of bills turn up that she understandably didn't deal with. She showed them to her Macmillan nurse, and the problem just went away. Once the palliative care doctors had stabilised mum's pain relief regimen, her one final wish was to pass away in her own home. Thanks to the Macmillan Nurses, she was able to do this; For this alone I will always be grateful to them.

I already give to Macmillan regularly, and I urge you all to do likewise. I hope that Luke and his family raise a truckload of cash for this cause.

Im doing the great south run to raise money for Macmillan and it is indeed a worthy cause. Unfortunately my mum went in to hospital on wednesday after having a seizure and multiple fits, spent till yesterday (friday) unconscious and fighting for her life. Doctors arent dead sure of the cause yet but waiting for more scans to be done on the tumour on her brain frown. She was diagnosed with brain cancer back in January and after the chemo didnt have any effect she went on to have radiotherapy. Obviously lots of side effects from radiotherapy and without the support of the macmillan nurses my mum and dad would have had a very hard time at home during and after the treatment. The ongoing support from macmillan is invaluable and the least I can do is raise a bit of money to help them in the future

Dave Grabham of the NFAA's Freddy's Revenge team will be having his beard (and possibly hair if enough is raised) shaved off at tonight's NFAA Dinner Dance to raise money for the Bennett's Macmillan fundraising.
If anyone wishes to sponsor Dave in his hair loss operation, any amount at all, email saucyminx34@hotmail.com with a name, contact number and the amount you wish to sponsor OR go directly to the link Luke Bennett has provided and donate there!
Thanks for any support smile
