...and note how there is only one slick-equipped vehicle in all of the on-track pictures. That sums things up.

Yes one suspects that was the question which was really being asked, ain't I a tease smile

No burnout, a couple of chirps up to the line. Engine briefly sounded as if it was leaning out just before staging, then engine note came back, one pipe on the left looked to be putting out a lot of nitro flame on the way in to stage but the others weren't. Blower burst panel popped but at what sounded like minimal if any throttle. Engine stopped and header fires on both sides, start line crew were right there with the CO2. Meanwhile Simon climbed out of the escape hatch. I very much doubt any harm done.

Edit: clarifying when/where the nitro flame thing was happening

Especially when you haven't got a clue what your doing, and have a driver who still needs to go to school to learn how to drive a fuel car! Do us all a favor Nobby just bow out quietly PLEASE,

Is there a reason for that? I imagine you're John Force or some such. The rest of us mere mortals had to go through the motions when it came to first piloting fuel cars. You must have had one from birth.

As for Nobby, I sense he's probably built and campaigned more fuel cars than you've had little rants, and that's building up into quite a few.

Why the anger? If you don't like it here, you could go elsewhere, or do something else. Instead, I sense you find enjoyment in winding up and annoying everyone.

Well done though, maybe we'll keep you, you're a funny guy.

OK so NITRO Fan, please enlighten us as to why the need for this rant, do you actually know Nobby? I doubt it, if you did you'd know him as a proper stand up guy.

I've know him & his family since I was a kid and personally find your comments towards him to be totally unwarranted. If you want to rant goto the pie & piston and leave the drag forum to drag racers & fans..

Nitro Fan is having a little sojourn on the naughty step, but will be back later if he promises to play nicely...

Well out of order...Nobby Hills, respect. We all agree there's no substitute for experience, so let's see who's got just abut the most around...oh it's Nobby Hills well well. I feel an sincere apology is on the cards, life takes all sorts, that's what makes the world go round.

Well said everyone (except "Nitro Fan" almost an oxy moron based on his comments on here)

I'm hoping that everyone was ok, Simon and photographers alike.

Sounds like a little pop to me then and the Blower burst panels did their job. Good to see Simon getting out through the top hatch too.

Thats one more thing ticked off the experience list. He's well on the way now.

Been following the team really closely and its so close now you can almost taste it. Fingers crossed with a big push, 2009 could be the year of the Houndog.

Yep, everyone was OK and we already knew that Miss Corrado was twinkle-toed anyway. It wasn't even the usual boomer you get with blower plates but a gentle thump (or as gentle as a blower panel can be). Certainly not the worst I've seen or heard, put it that way.

You have to be when there's cake involved in the pits.

From where I was standing, I'd say Simon did a grand job actually. ^_^

If he is allowed back then I believe it should be only if he allows his real name to be put on his profile so that the "real" drag racing fans on here know who he is. Then we can treat the tw@ with the contempt he deserves.

I do not think that the person in question will do such a thing CRR. Which, in actual fact, is a good thing as narrow minded attitudes such as NF's are not welcome around here.

Just heard it sounds like very little damage was done at all. Just popped out a blower plate and that's it.
Sounds like the Houndog just ran out of fuel on the line and leaned out.
