We're done for the day here at Santa Pod. News from the pits is that we have lost Wayne Nicholson from Pro Mod next weekend with a torched block and head, and we understand we may not see John Bradshaw either. No detail on that one yet save that "It doesn't look pretty".
Crying shame, I love watching that car.Fingers crossed you can sort it for Easter John.
Yep sorry to say but the engine is very poorly, need to see how bad the damage really is but at least 1 piston dead, turbo needs rebuilding, head buggered
However on the bright side it was great to at least be sat in the car again after nearly 6 months out & we got 3 runs in total completed, 1 1/2 pass just to check things were ok & then 2 power runs 7.80 & 7.82
Here's the 2nd vid

Massive problem in the 2nd power run of 7.82 run which curtailed our day short & we need to find out what damage has been caused over the next couple of days - being realistic though that's 18 months on that engine without an issue so bound to have a problem sooner or later - that's racing.
1st run of the day was just a short blast to get data on the new cluch set up and gear ratio change
2nd run @2.0 bar 7.80 @ 170mph so that was good
3rd run running 2.25 bar boost, 60 ft spot on, 0.04sec faster at 1/8. car lost boost from around 4.5 secs into run. still ran 7.82 @166 thou with not even pulling in 5th gear. been studying the datalogging since I have been home looks like either we have a massive air leak or maybe a bent valve , will need further investigations. If we can make next weekend we will do.
been doing some working out thou , if the 3rd run would have carried on without any probs, I would say it would of been around a 7.6 @ 180ish mph..........then we can turn the boost up
So not all bad news at all, great to know the various minor changes we have made over the winter are looking very very positive indeed as for thunderball I think that is not going to be possible at all but will try everything that's possible over the next few days .......
