I had a feeling that was the direction you'd be heading. Hope it works out for you. It'll be interesting to see where you can go with a chassis that lets you use the full power of that engine...

Cheers Tet.My hand has been forced really with the chassis rules and the fact the engine is WAY more than the car is capable of.Just by virtue of the fact the car will weigh 2750lbs in pro mod trim will mean it'll be faster than the 3400lb heavyweight brick i have now..biggrin
It won't be a quick build though as it's self funded at the moment.Because i will only be using the engine/ECU and a few little parts from RV2 means i can still have fun at RWYB's for now..

Great project

Perhaps there is a call for a new class to sit in between Pro-mod and comp eliminator something to cater for V6 cars and alternative transmissions ??

i'm not counting on it but you have to try..
If there's enough cars i'm sure an unlimited outlaw class would be cool.
Pro mod is the pinnacle of doorslammers though..
Thanks everyone.

I know what you mean & Pro Mod is awesome :-)

we can still have a play & banter though Andy for trying to get the quickest time with a turbo car between us over the next few years.

Comp eleminator already goes all the way up to Pro Mod anyway[1], and also already caters for V6 cars and automatic transmissions. You could maybe argue that there's scope for a heads up class somewhere between the two.

[1] Although not for turbo cars yet. But I'm not sure that would stop you from entering in AT/A. I'm still not entirely sure what the AA/PM and AN/PM classes are for anyway. Does anyone know what the difference between AA/A and AA/PM is, for example, other than slightly different minimum weights?

Im rather concerned (reading the ED report) that it seems Mr Frost has cut up a classic vauxhall for moulds and suchlike, has the man no scruples? these Vauxhall Victors are fast appreciating classics, in a few years they will be worth more than gold dust......

Hi Andy !

Cool project, I wish you the best for RedVictor 3.0...biggrin

Did you read that there is a CE class called AT/PM ?

Could you (both) fit into it ?

I am not sure about the Index, 7.16 ?

Regards,
Benni

.....and get you cars over to Hock someday !

Thanks Benni.
I didn't know that but for me it has to be PM. It's what i always wanted to do.
Hockenheim is on my list of places to go.

Interesting. There's no AT/PM class in the UK rule book, for this year at least, but the Swedes are publishing an index for it (which happens to be identical to the AA/PM index -- I'm guessing they're just using that as a starting point).

From what I recall the A*/PM classes are so that Pro Mod can race at an event where there are not enough classes for a full PM eliminator and as such follow the PM rules rather than have people with a Pro Mod try and fit in to AA/A and A/A (and now AT/A) - this being the reason for the difference. I suspect that AT/PM will crop up in the rule book soon enough over here.

And Andy - I know what you mean about running Pro Mod but Comp Eliminator will just give you another place to play much like you do already.

I'm aware of that but thinking more like Competition bike where its heads up with "anything goes" any type of bike can compete in the class there are no restrictions apart from the general safety requirements

I'm all for innovation but its very risky to build a car or bike and then hope the class rules are changed to adopt it , Martin Peck suffered this in funny bike where he built a bike with aftermarket engine cases like a top fuel bike but wanted to run it in Funny bike where the rules only allow OEM cases unfortunately he lost out

Ah yes, I forgot that. Unless you go on a tour of Sweden but then I guess you can play with Top Doorslammer (or whatever their Pro Mod but not quite class is called)
