Shame about Fred's gravel trapping, hopefully they'l get it back together.

Derek not having the weekend he planned yet either I guess.

Will TF make it to the 3's ?

Andy Robinsons PM bracket racer continues....breathtaking repeatability.

30 Pro Mod's!!!!!!!!

Good to see Freddy and Urs back out in europe too.

Oh, And Messrs Frost and Bradshaw, may I draw your attention to this item from Eurodragster.com

Pro Mod racer Johan Samuelsson said
"I run twin 91mm Switzer turbos and we are using 35psi boost. Although the rules have no limit on the boost, we found that 40psi produces 3000hp, which is difficult to get to the track."
Who'd have thought it eh ?

Best of luck to all racers this weekend.

Indeed. I'm starting to question the wisdom of selecting him in the guess the Mantorp winners thread. Ho hum. With luck they'll be back out again tomorrow.

amongst the many things that confuse me (list available by email), regarding TF, why is 1000ft now 990ft?...

Because they took exactly one quarter off the quartermile, maybe ?

Deutschland über alles ? Not quite....biggrin.....but :
Some german drivers are doing good, great to see Schöfer back in the 5,50,
I hope there is more to come from the bavarian thunder team.
First time (I think) that Dennis qualified better (so far) than brother Timo Habermann ?

Good to see Norbert Kuno back in action,
and Marco Maurischat getting the grip on the SetUp.

Harald Sturhan currently sitting on the uncomfortable PS Bump Spot
with some of the usually fast guys behind him,
I bet he tries to step up tomorrow (without stepping out, I hope)

Guido Uhlir in the Manta A now 4th in SG (he rebuilds the B for SP/ET),
although I fear for him breaking out in the 1st or 2nd racing round.

Greetz ,
Benni

It's always been 990', but our cousins on the other side of the pond refer to it as 1000'.

WOW is all I can say to Freddy´s 6.14 Top Qualifier,
to me the rear spoiler looked different than before, ist that so ?
I never thought the PickUp would be able to do these numbers.........:respect:

I also liked Norbert Kuno´s 6.31, am thinking whether that is new PB. (€dit. No, 6,25)
As for Marco Maurischat, I hope he is OK after having his Vette stone-blasted,
and the damage can be fixed with (rolls of) Gaffa tape.

Pat Schöfer seems to be back in form with his new PB,
but it will be tough for him with Grumpy´s 5.3 and some others
with the ability to run faster than today.

benni

Yep, I have to say I didn't see that one coming from Freddy. I only wish I'd been there to see it in person. Nice to see the fuel cars getting down the track. No stellar times, but it looks like nearly everyone got from A to B under full power. I can only begin to imagine the grin on Linda's face after that run, though. Also good to see Pro Stock so close, with the top 3 all running 6.79s.

I THINK it was in the high 6.20s, 26 or 28 at SPR two (?) years ago.
Must have been a leap in power -or just a run where EVERYTHING came together-
like some other PMs have had it at the Main Event 09 ,
like Bruno Bader and others who bettered by 2/10s in one run.
How the Circus Team did this within their aerodynamic limits os beyond me,
as Freddy told in an ED interview 2 years ago that
"adding more power just won´t do it, the truck runs against a wall at 350 Km/h,
and then starts to spin the wheels" (or so, in my remembrance).
Maybe new clutch parts and setup ?

Benni

6.253 / 228.30 (367.42kph) set at Alastaro last year. The speed mark still stands.

Given that he's just run a 6.16 in eliminations, I think we can rule out it having been a freak run, and that it does genuinely represent where his performance is now. Well done to all involved. Bit of a shock to see Andy Robinson going out in the first round, but that's racing.

Does anyone know anything about Jan Gunnarsson? That's a new name to me, and apart from the brief pit notes yesterday, and what's on the promod.nu site, I know nothing. He seems to have come out of nowhere and yet be putting in some extremely competitive performances.

Wow, what a good race day so far.
I am just slightly confused about the rerun in PM,
I thought protests against the timing system are not generally allowed ?
By the way, this is not a "german-biased" question ,
this would have me confused regardless of the racer´s origin.

Benni

I think Andy ought to manage the win here.

Real shame for Gus, the bracket racer.

Unlucky too for Martin Bishop in PSB.

That ^^^^^ is luvverly !

eta - Isnt Freddy using a Leanders clutch ?

Think I may phone Mantorp and complain, they have MUCH nicer weather than we currently have......
