Matts and Marc M both over 230mph - blimey.

Nice to to see Derek back in the mix.

Even nicer to see Fred got it repaired.

Why are A fuelers so hard to keep all 8 lit ?

SSB all in the 7's - nearly expect it now.

Damn shame to see the Nugget into the wall again. Maybe Marc M got it right and upgraded to a newer car.

eta1 - Why cant Lo Stauble make his bike go straight anymore ? Its just an animal now

Mats first into the six-zeros and backed up too! tmd tight as ever, and great to see Danny Belio back on form. Top fuel final qualifying looked great, and the entire eurodragster team doing a superb job, as ever.

Eric On the rocket!
Jeeezus, 251 mph !!!!!! at 5.2 as well. Christ, thats mental.

Gus's consistancy is amazing, 4 runs at 6.17 and a 6.14.

Marc M must be *slightly* annoyed that someone else was the first to hurt his brand new car. What a bizaar incident that seems.

Big up to the bikers, Graham Balchin and Lenny P both taking it to jonny foreigner.

I think the Andersons can help Andy to win.

Even before or after lunch the crowd is no where near as big as Saturday nights is , they seem to prefer stunts , night time fuel demos and burnouts to actual racing but as long as they come and the events a success then so be it.

Yes, rather odd. Interesting to read the regular reports on ED. Strange up and down with the crowd numbers, but I hope Hockenheim will now be a stable fixture on the FIA calendar.

was there a cut price "night of stunts and demos (see the jet cars) entry after normal competition" ticket?

It may well be that much like the fireworks meet at the pod this is an event locally so you get people coming out for a night of entertainment rather than die-hard motorsports fans. They are a different demographic but if they can get some of them to cross over then all is good.

Hockenheim does have loyal followers who come for the weekend and they have some amazing parties in the woods that make up the campsite. When I went in 1998 there seemed to be more spectators than last time I went (2001 ish maybe?) but I still recall the atmosphere being amazing. They do love a burnout though, did seem to be better appreciated than a fast run.

not as good as in 2002 when Fredde did a 1000ft (or is that 990ft?) burnout and the stand we were in was on it's feet chanting his name

Mr Ellis was doing a dam good job of trying to make up for the lack of freddie.

There is a fine line between a burnout and drifting and I think Blakey crossed it (says Mister Can't Pull A Decent Burnout For Toffee).
