perhaps cruz should have beaten john in the round before, then there would be no problems . but he did not beat john so cruz and tony shhh mike dunn should be sacked from his position at espn for a start for making the kind of comments he did.( from what i have seen on the net) but of corse that will never happen

Of course it'll never happen, think what it did for the ratings. If you are prone to believing that at times the NHRA wants to be WWF (or is it WWE now? Big men in lycra dancing round and acting badly anyway) then what happened could almost have been premeditated.

However I think what happened was more like Pedregon is a hot blooded type and got really pi**ed off at his brother not getting in the countdown (which is a rubbish idea anyway) and can't control his mouth. If you believe that Force threw the race with insane amounts of money in the sport like that of course teams are going to try and use tactics to get where they are going but if Cruz wanted in he should have raced harder earlier in the season. Would Tony have done the same for Cruz? Probably.

The posts about this on Nitromater kept me entertained for much of yesterday morning!

A couple of races a go they met up in second round, they raced straight up and Tony won. I'd have put money on him letting Cruz through seen as he was struggling on the borderline. Guess they didn't expect Hight to get things together seen as he DNQ'd there?

Not a fan of the countdown system but with drama like this I can't see it going away any time soon.

This is nothing new. The Pedgregons always act the victims.

End of the day it is a business and Force needed Hight in that countdown just as much as Cruz needed it. I honestly believe that if Tony had come up against Cruz this weekend he would of dropped it too.

I know they didn't a few weeks ago but i bet they are kicking themselves this week.

The main problem i saw was Cruz backstabbing Force after shaking his hand in the shutdown area and congratulating him and then turning round to the cameras and calling Force a cheat and a manipulator. Typical Pedregon BS.

I think once it's all calmed down Force and Pedregon will be fine, they have a lot of respect for eachother really.

Pedregon accused Force of throwing the race so that Hight (who drives for JFR) would claim the last countdown spot at Pedregon's expense.

Mike Dunn should be sacked for what?! He gave an honest opinion. Force threw the race, and wasn't honest enough to admit it. We understand why Force threw it, the fans who booed him knew he threw it and still Force tries to BS everyone.

John has the cap on in the interview and throws it away when he and Tony start to square up. That female is at the end of the track and hands the Force drivers caps after every run as well as assisting with the HANS device and takes away the helmets. I can only presume she is an employee of Force Racing.

Excellent! I'm sure that Mr Force must use the same veneer dentist as The (remaining) Bee Gees and most other American Superstars.... Come to think of it, it's just a pity that in John's case they were mistakenly modelled on an impression taken from a Shire horse!
