Reasonably accurate for me (with the usual caveats -- the engine hasn't been on a dyno and the car hasn't been on scales, so I'm using estimates for both)

it says it refers to recorded runs, maybe not just mathematical formulae

I use this...
http://www.letstorquebhp.com/calculator.asp

Ive found its quite accurate for my car (TVR Chimaera with nitrous and Mickey Ts)
But i use it more as a comparison tool to see how my nitrous system is performing.
ie enter the numbers to match a non gas run then see the power difference on the gas run. Its help me tweek my nitrous system and get the most out of it.
Its also very useful to work out how much more grunt you need to reach a certain 1/4 time. (ie 10.99 for me) Its quite a lot! eek

Hmmm, never know with these things, according to this it took us 2800 HP to run the 6.42 as were heavy at 1100kgs and that was a 1000 foot pass.

without taking into account tyres sizes, gearing and such like you'll never get an accurate picture, for some cars though it does seem to give a rough estimate

Miles out I found, according to that it took 3500+ bhp to wring a 6.23 out of Graham's Superbird lol. Looks like our mission to stuff screw rotors in to a roots case worked ha ha
