Vegas & Pomona '09 - How will the Europeans fair?
Discussion
It seems unprecedented in such financial times that we have quite a number of Europeans taking on the Americans on their home turf. They have each packed up all their stuff and shipped it out there, or have rented/bought equipment from American owners. I say good luck to one and all of them! Perhaps there might be a famed American scalp or two after qualifying. You never know.
How do we think they will get on a Vegas and Pomona?

We all know the andersen boys are good! Bout time they finally show the americans what they can do!
That would have been a good 4.50 in the 1/4 aswell!
Huge well done to them, and to thomas for the quickest ride of his life
They may end up staying for longer into next year now....
Cheers

Bad luck to Lex - losing belts on all runs.
Bad luck to Lex for happening to run his quickest time in Q2, which was then excluded due to the crazy NHRA qualifying system. Were they running over here, he'd have been 13th, between Urs and Stig.Anyhow. We have a great chance of a strong showing by the boys today and here's to them!
Eh up!
While i think the 12 car on friday thing sounds daft, it was done because at alot of tracks during the summer they had night time qualifying runs on friday. If you didnt hit the spot on that one run, you hadnt got a hope of getting in on saturday due to the heat. It happened alot of times where everyone who qualified did it with their friday night run and the nhra needed to give everyone an incentive to run more qualifying rounds, and so that 4 rounds of qualifying didnt become a one shot deal. Everyone who enters the event knows the plan, but it does suck when someones best time doesnt count!
Anyway, that said, Thomas and the Andersen boys, YOU ARE THE MEN!
Check out the incrementals on the last qualifier, if it hadnt of eaten itself, then bob frey would have been close to saying hello to your new no 1 qualifier from NORWAY
Tough luck for Lex too because his best run of the weekend on friday wasnt far off/equal to that pace aswell!
Bad luck for Derek aswell, but to Thomas, Urs and the real Stig, Go take some american scalps.....
Cheers

Great video link!
It took a nuclear boomer for Urs to get on ESPN Television, so I'm glad to see they've done the right thing and showed some interest in "The Foreign Contingent" in Stig and Thomas. They produced quite a bit of decent coverage. Excellent.
I look forward to seeing what happens this weekend. I get the feeling it's going to be a good one.

Well, he may not have qualified yet, but I think that 5.431 is a new PB for Derek. Also, I suspect Spencer's going to be kicking himself. No idea what happened there, but it's very unusual for him to mess up on the start line. I'd guess maybe transbrake problems. Let's hope we can get all four fuel cars into the show this time. I'm sure that would raise more than a few eyebrows over there.
Looks like Goodyear have sorted that sidewall strength issue
