FIA Pro-Modified 2010
Discussion
Ok, we have started speculating about Top Fuel, so how about the number of teams likely to do the full tour in Pro-Mod. Last season saw more carnage than i can remember so the chances are some will have to sit out 2010 or compete selectively.
Could the field drop below 16 or will we see 24+?

In answer to your question:

check that out, and on eurodragster today the spy pic of a new car.
Not sure that the lindbergs will run all the fia races, but that sure is a quick machine theyve bought
Heres hoping ray white returns next season along with a few others so im keeping em crossed for 24+
With the strength and depth of european pro mod these days it really is one of the best classes in europe, possibly ever, and with the international competition soooo reminds me of the hey-days of pro-comp. I.e so many different combos and anglo scandinavian competition!
Roll on Q1 at the main event
Cheers
ps.... and maybe, maybe the return of hakan nilsson to some races if hes got comfy with the new blower car........

I think/hope Peter Ritscher from the Totalperformance Team http://www.totalperformance.de/content/de/2000_dod...
brings his blown Avenger back on track in 2010, with new parts and a setup to improve
his 6,6 that he achieved with his old/mismatched setup and only 5 runs.
I don´t know if he can do the whole FIA Tour due to work(shop) commitments.
The 3 dutch PM drivers who had so much bad luck in 09 will also be back,
If I recall correctly.
I hope for a hard qualifying for the 16 field on all FIA tracks.

well we killed two engines this year, but we hope to be able to do the tour,
Depends on a lot of things though,
We have a new 3 disc Leanders clutch, new blower,Fuel system, new trans ratios but at this time no engines to bolt the go faster stuff to,
car is in for repairs and resprayand not 1 single sponser to be seen,
anyone who has a year out now will be left behind and we desperatly dont want that,

good news is autos are allowed as long as they have a 25.3 can attatched, that is the NHRA ruling and the FIA so iv been told will follow these rules faithfully one year behind,
good luck...we all need it,

I can't see what advantage turbo cars have to knock 110ci off. They haven't been as fast as a blower car yet ffs..This will now cost me an extra $4500 at least

I really thought pro mod wanted level playing fields.
I guess the rules are made up as they go along..
So,i get told catagorically NO autos allowed.Sell my unbelievably expensive powerglide and converter, buy a lenco, bruno and bellhousing and get informed autos now allowed?? Yea,i can afford to keep chopping and changing on someone else's whim.
I don't see why we can't have european rules for europe.

tbh turbo cars have been faster in NHRA competition than blower cars,
I think Brad Personet has scared everybody with his Legal 250 mph blasts,
and this is a family team father, son and sponser, I guess they are thinking what if this had time to develop...
Re rules made up as they go along
You have to concider that this is the first time ever that there has been pro mod rules in the NHRA rule book,
it has never been a NHRA class befour the previous rules were IHRA rules with some changes made,
with the demise of pro mod in IHRA the nhra rule book is the natural choice of the FIA,
All these rules were developed by Roger Burgess (series sponser) and the NHRA, for america these rules were not designed for europe or a personal snipe at you,
its just the nature of pro mod now i guess we have to align with them so our cars are legal there and their's here,
its no different for me
i just got a state of the art K11 from one of the best in the business,
now we are allowed Billet blowers......

Brad Personnett's 'only' running a 520 BAE Hemi that was a blower motor adapted to run hairdryers so its not even a bespoke turbo motor, 5.87@246 & 5.95@250, first 250mph car and 2nd quickest legal pro mod pass, its like slowing down the blowers to stop them running away from thew nitrous cars, except it didn't work and I'm sure Brad will be the quickest car out there next year

You can't compare a hemi to a conventional headed motor.Absolute chalk and cheese that is.
A personal swipe..lol Obviously not, especially as he wouldn't even know who i was if i smacked him on the nose.

If the was a worldwide series where the cars travelled and all raced each other i could understand the rules being exactly the same everywhere, but it isn't,and you can't compare us to the USA.
But,this is all in my opinion and what do i know anyway..
Have fun next year.
Nothing worse & sorry to hear you guys have bought parts or spent on development only to see the goalposts moved
We can't even be arsed to think about the 350z for pro mod regardless of whether we can get our head around it next year & run proper 6's - it's just to different & would never get in despite only being a sub 4.0 L V6 etc.
Maybe one day a free for all class similar to the 1/8th class in the US that's doing really well coverage & feature wise at the mo.
Good luck next year & hope all goes well.

Yes,ADRL would be great here John. There's enough cars too.

I don't know why they won't let you in with your car.So what if it isn't a V8?
I'd like to see a valid reason,and not just "it isn't a V8"...
It would bring a whole new fanbase into pro mod,not to mention sponsors.
Hope to see you soon mate.

I know at the PRI show there was some talk between Burgess and some of the PM drivers there re going to the US and also the possibility of everyone going to the middle east also,
yeah i fully agree tha aussies did their own deal and did it well my personal feelings on this are probably the same as yours give us our own rules that suit our racing and budgets
But the "World Series" as you put Is thought of as a real posibility,
Reason other than its not a V8....
sorry there is none,
rulebook says V8

Also this year as an unexpected bonus Fuel spec rear wheels are MANDATORY for ALL pro mod cars, that is in the rule book for FIA 2010,
And to be eligible for any FIA prize money you have to pay 1,000 euros at the start of the season or you realy do get nothing,
When it comes to money Pro Mod is a cruel class to run in,
Ask anyone whos tried and failed,
