Impact safety equipment more trouble !!

It's all about where Impact got the labels from, nothing to do with the quality or safety of the product. I guess SFI must charge $$$$$ for every label, and feel that they have been done out of lots of money.Compared to the FIA where certification results in the authority to embroider the FIA certificate details on the garment.
It's going to be an interesting month or so as Impact has counter-filed.
As someone who has an FIA approved suit, I don't have much to worry about - though they can refund me if they like!!!! (suit, hat, undies, boots, gloves....)
I'm hoping to go racing in the 'States, so I do hope they sort themselves out - with Bill Simpson being God when it comes to racing safety equipment, I can see it getting sorted quickly, maybe with some pain on Impact's part in the way of paying a wedge of $$$$ to the SFI.
Non story.. but hans are another that does not think so..
Just so you know I am not a fan of the SFI or NHRA as they don't really do anything for the racer but cost them money

Press release from SFI and Impact on their websites.
All 2009/10 gear from Impact remains legal. Everything else has to be checked/verfied.
Then again, every suit over 3 yrs old has to be re-certified to retain it's SFI tags.
FIA approvals last for the life of the standard - or until they get thrown out by the scrutineers.
