Its many years since we had the 'Rover V8 Drag Racing Association'.

I joined and got the T-shirt the year it folded!

I know the engine is still very popular and i was wondering if there would be enough interest to bring a dedicated Rover V8 class or 2 alive again.

Pro-comp was my favourite............

streamlining a few classes (amalgamating) would make it easier for newbies to understand whats going on to, assuming anyone wants them to go away with any understanding of whats going on (heads up, index, ET, RT, TS.... etc)and maybe come again - i know many die-hards arent bothered

They already did that with the ET classes. Short of having one massive ET class, which can't happen for safety reasons if nothing else, I can't see what else they can do.

I don't see how it would make a blind bit of difference to newbies either.

"er, that ones left before the other, how come the other one won?"

10 ET classes or 1, makes no odds does it. They'd still be saying the same thing.

Good idea Derek;

Steve G's was one of the best sounding, and running.

I remember Steve and Paula Aitkin running side by side mid 8's with RV8s but a vague memory tells me he changed the motor later.
Maybe someone else here knows the actual facts

Steve ran down to 8.33 with the 4.5l Rover motor and then deep into the 7's with the Wildcat rover setup.

Any idea idea of the engine output with those Wildcat heads?

With or without NOS to get those numbers?

how small?
It looked like a nice nitrous 'burp' he had on the startline on TV the other day. I think it was a bike program about having a go at dreg racing

Not sure but I know its not a lot.

I dont think Steve has had a nitrous burp with the new engine so might of been old footage.
