There was a strong possibility on friday, that by leaving TF until last it was'nt going to run at all.

There was a chance, like there always is, not a "strong possibility". Classes are run in a specific order for a reason.
Sorry for quoting a closed thread but it's something I've always wondered.. How do different classes get programmed and what's the logic behind it?the TF final is usually the last FIA class to run, but the event can go on a while after with all the "sportsman" (i.e. non-FIA) classes, SPR usually TRY to stick to the running order but the clerk of the course (is that the correct term at drag racing?) has the final say in all things
except the weather
and hot dog prices

To be fair the racers do not make it any easier for the Race Director what with some double entering (e.g. Super Gas and Super Comp in the same car) or a car being used by different drivers in different classes (e.g. Paul Marston Racing's dragster) making it a logistical nightmare. In the FIA classes Joran Persaker has the TF and the PM to play with...

If you mean why do the classes run in a specific order, see the "racing opinions" thread.
