Im almost afraid to ask................
Discussion
Given the current financial situation, I would guess its highly unlikely in the near future.
What I've never understood though is how the team had a running car at one point, which must surely be at the stage where its s
t or get off the pot as far as getting it to an actual race meeting.
I fully understand these things need big dollars throwing at them, but it would really upset me to have that capital tied up in a very nearly race car.

The lottery is one of the options being explored.....
Seriously though, before the the keyboard crew chiefs are out in force:
We have purposely taken a low profile on internet forums etc due to the personal abuse Nobby and the team were subjected to some time ago, however for your information, nobody wants to be out racing more than Nobby and nobody is more frustrated and disappointed than him that the car has yet to race.
The costs of actually running these cars in consumables etc is so well known that I don’t need to repeat it here.
The fact is that neither Nobby or the team have the finances to run the car without some financial assistance.
The purpose of building the car and making the investment to get it running was to have something to show a potential sponsor. Something that a potential sponsor could see and feel rather than some glossy A3 sheets and a power point presentation…….If he hadn't been serious about racing, do you think Nobby would have gone to the effort and spent the money in the actual building the car?
I could go on about credit crunches, recessions and so on. These have arisen since the car was built that nobody could have predicted, but hopefully there is enough brain power out there to understand that times are tough and all credit goes to those that have got a sponsor and even more important, can keep their sponsors.
Thankfully we know that there is still support for the team which we continue to appreciate.
Now, where are my lottery numbers.............

Theres absolutely no crticism of NH Racing whatsoever, and the 'Dog is not the only AAFC kept away by finances, we know the class hangs by a thread but many would (like the team probably) wish to see the car out
anybody wanting a fight will have to go round me first (and thats damn long walk)
Eurolottery - does it pay out in GBP or funny-euro-money?

Noted.
I just wanted to give some background in case people didnt know why we are where we are.
Also I wanted to explain to Toyless why the car was built and in his words why we "have that capital tied up in a very nearly race car" and why "the team had a running car at one point, which must surely be at the stage where its xxxx or get off the pot as far as getting it to an actual race meeting".

Chris,I post from my phone during the day,so I don't always go into massive detail.
I'm a big fan of any Hound dog car and spent many a year watching the team.
I wasn't in any way knocking the team, merely saying how frustrating it must be to sooo close to running it.
Out of interest,as a rough estimate, what sort of figure would be needed to get the to a meeting and what is actually left to do?
Is there also a danger of the tech becoming redundant before its even used in anger?

No problem Toyless, sometimes I get a bit sensitive in my old age and after the sh*t we had last year from some keyboard crew chiefs,
Andy Carter (I think) quoted 3 grand per run, fully loaded, which included shipping, crew costs everything.
Given a less agressive (on parts) tune up and reduced costs on hospitality and travel and so on its still going to be in the thousands per run, assuming that over the course of a weekend there will be oil and fuel, plugs and so on as consumables plus pistons and valves and heads damaged, let alone a block. Oh and spares are required, more than a couple of pistons hidden in a trailer are required today.
What is there to do? Simon is still to get fully licensed and as to the tech, yes its a risk. As of now the only bits not certified are the rear wheels. the chassis was upgraded to the latest specs a while ago, so its being kept up to date.
More worringly is i have just checked my lottery ticket and no luck tonight. Story of my life !!!

NH Racing
I had no idea you guys were still in the game. The itch never goes away, does it?
Last time I went to watch drag racing is over 30 years ago, before life and kids got in the way.
My ears are still ringing............
.....................................really!!!
If, no I mean when you get up and running again, I'll come up to the Pod just to watch you - I mean it!
