Where is best place, (in terms of availability of stock and price), to go for Chrome Moly tubing in the UK?
I have had some ridiculous quotes recently and I'm just wondering if there is a decent supplier I've not tried yet...
AS a guide, what price per foot are people paying for say 1.5" x 0.065 w/t tubing?

Thanks for that guys - I was thinking more of where they buy their stuff from. I have imported from the States myself before and used Winged Aviation here in the UK, but neither of those options has been ideal and WA prices seem to have gone up a lot since I last used them.

I think this may be a price-break issue. If you are buying 30' to put a cage in, it will be a lot dearer than buying enough to front and back half twenty TM /TF dragsters. Unless you are buying it in the quantities Webster and Eriksson order then you will be paying top dollar.

You could try asking them. I've found all of them to be helpful, even if you're just after advice. I'm sure at least one of them will either sell you the tubing themselves, or point you in the direction of their own suppliers.

I suspect many of these chassis builders get their 4130 tube from:
http://www.twmetals.com/default.aspx?sp=4&meta...
They're in southampton and have supplied US spec materials for decades.
I enquired a couple of weeks ago about this very size (1.5 x .065") and they quoted £25 per metre for a 6 metre order.

Hi Jerry, just had a long browse through your site, great stuff (bikes & cars),
and some names like Hagon and Les Harris which are not uncommon even to a german PHer.

Thanks for that Jerry, that is a good price compared to what I've been offered. I have been quoted between £32 and £39 / metre for a similar length to you. Ta for info.
