Eric Dillard went 5.88 @255 in the R2B2 vette
0.99 60 3.94 197 at the eighth, with 88mm turbos,
i think that will guarentee about a 40 ci loss for next year or even this year as nhra have a rule that they can change the rules as and when they like

who wants to bet on what the penalty will be as the 88 turbos acheived exactly fk all

I could have told you they wouldn't anyway..yes
We will only see the rule change next year.
The way they will be messing with the rules makes even more sense for us not to be using them. If we were a professional sport then fine. Hobby racing needs as little rule changes as possible or some people will take up a different hobby.
If you're going to the speedgroup meeting maybe mention this?
I have to dyno an engine on Saturday and can't make it..

true we will only get the rule change next year but not nessicarily the rules as posted
If the nhra change the rules during this year and amend the rule book, these will still take effect next year for us whatever they may be,
50 mm turbos
450 ci whatever they deciede, If they make changes

i dont think im going to the speed group meeting either but speed group dont make the rules the fia do...well they copy and paste...

they say its a turbo 400?

It'll be whatever the rules they've decided on at year end..
As this run was done with a Rossler 3 speed TH400 and converter drive look for a ban on autos (again).
Also a ban on vectoring exhaust outlets too...
Speedgroup do have a say in rule making i believe as they are the group that liase with the FIA on which rules to use or not.Maybe Micke can clarify this?
My personal opinion is keep the 20% blower with 540ci,the 91mm turbos with 540ci,let nitrous cars have as big a ci as they can get,and let's have at it...biggrin
As i said before the SFI safety rules as per NHRA.

the rule changes will be made by the NHRA and over there it is a pro class,

There were rules that were not supposed to be in the book this year but they got in there,

I think the hirachy at speedgroup can suggest stuff but i dont think they can demand
and the stuff sugested this year was forgotten about ...

Hi Guys. Following the rules must be a nightmare for you with all the changes, potential changes and suggested changes. It was bad enough when i raced in 80's but then you had notice. I suppose thats the problem when running in a pro class. I don't envy you.

I think the numbers here now say we will see a 5.7 during the season,
100% definatly gonna get a healthy rule change hopefully in next years 2012 NHRA rules, so it wont affect us till 2013
if it happens during the this season it will be ours for 2012,

I personaly think they will have to reduce displacement, I cant see the NHRA pussy footing about if they see a 5.7

( i also hope im very wrong)

any thoughts,
apart from the obvious?
