If you invest in a PAYG dongle, don't bother with Vodafone, signal is shocking.

if you have a smartphone/iphone/android, or data you can "tether" a laptop to it using a cable or (as with mine) turn yoour phone into a wifi hotspot and connect that way, sharing its connection...

Cool - next question then is how do the technologically challenged carrying a laptop get to use it? (simple answers in non-joined up writing and words of few syllables please!).

do you have a smart/android or iphone/blackberry, etc or a dongle?

i use a HTC Desire so can only comment on what works for me, if you have a suitable phone and a wifi adapter in the laptop you need to go into phone "settings" and switch on "wifi hotspot" (makng your phone an actual hotspot) then search for available networks on the laptop

Interesting. Any idea how much it costs? With demand sure to massively outstrip supply at the bigger meetings, I can't imagine it'll be free...

It is free, I connected with no issues. Wifi was just named Podshop when you searched for it.

It might be free NOW, that doesnt mean it wont get locked out when they see 200 users with laptops all stood within range of the hub - its obviously for any journalists to use, it may also have limits on its bandwidth

Nope its free, Journo's have a different wi-fi system to work with.

A bit sad if you ask me ! Surely you go up the Pod to get away from all the rubbish and watch the drag racing whilst having a laugh with friends .

Wow, it must of been at least 3 months since you moaned about the barn or similar.

Why not but a periscope and stand behind the barn?
