New CRV - anyone driven it?
Discussion
Got mine on Friday...had the previous version and it's definitely a step up in terms of the little ad-ons like keyless entry, a proper iphone connection that stores your numbers and can list your music properly.
I love it as I drive 80 miles a day to and from work...certainly more comfortable than my FD2.
I've got a blue with old English-beige interior, EX trim, 2.2 Diesel.

I've driven the new model, 2.2D in SR trim with the manual gearbox and on 17" wheels. For a car of this size and weight, it drove well and on the small wheels, dealt with rough / pot holed roads with ease. The manual gearbox is slick and precise and the pedals are correctly positioned unlike the badly offset pedals one finds in Audis. It steers fairly quickly but there's not much feel due to it using a EPS set-up. It does roll a fair bit when cornering fast but feels fairly controlled.
Overall I was very impressed. I drove a BMW X3 30d Msport last year and was dissappointed, particularly with the brakes and steering (I currently drive the V8 M3) and would choose the CRV over the X3.

Are you sure about the wheels being 17"? The SR Spec has 18" wheels as standard. The lower specs (S, SE) have 17's.Overall I was very impressed. Mine is due for delivery in 5-7 days. They called me today to say that my car was on its way, but it had been fitted with a set of mudflaps, so they would need to add an additional 175 quid to the invoice. I told them that they could leave them on or remove them, it was their choice, but there would be no way I'd pay more than that which was on the order. Cheeky sods.
Thanks for posting your thoughts on this car
We shall probably be getting one later in the year, so it's always nice to get other peoples opinions.
What's the fuel economy really like, though?
MPG on our 2.4 Accord leaves a lot to be desired!!

I commute 80 miles a day. 74 of those are on the M6 and M55 not in peak hours so I can lock cruise on at 65mpg and achieve a calculated 44 to 47mpg. I can get around 500 to 550 miles before the fuel light comes on.

To me it's not brilliant, but having had two years of that commute at less that 30mpg, I only fill up once a week instead of twice.
I really have to say that the build quality and amount of kit is a big step up for Honda. I had the previous gen CRV and the new one feels more upmarket.

I have just completed the first 600 miles in my 2.2 Diesel SR Manual. 46mpg average so far. Streets ahead of my Freelander Td4, I only got about 34 out of that,
