Honda Civic cdti boot wont open?

I've just bought a 2006 CDTI Civic, Gen 8 I think and the blasted boot will not open from outside. It can be opened from the inside using the emergency release.

A quick look on the forums would lead me to think it's the drivers door actuator. Has anyone else had the same problem? Im going to embark on fixing it this weekend so any advice or tips would be great.

Yep sounds like the actuator, try slamming the drivers door hard and see if it works then, sometimes makes it work for a couple of goes,

Cheers! heading to main stealers to order a part in the morning. Will give that a try first thing though. Doesnt look a difficult job to do. Is there any reprograming to do for the new unit?

Update. In a strange twist when the car had the new clutch fitted the mechanic refitted the battery and reset any fault codes and as if by magic it now works again!
