Honda Civic Type R

Should be nothing major, as with that age, I'd expect all the weak stuff to have been sorted.
Look for wear inner side of rear tyres. Was an issue with the camber arms, however, as I say, this I'd expect would have been picked up long ago.
Steering racks, another weak point in some CTRs, and top strut mounts. Also check the engine mounts at that age. I personally thought the standard mounts where s
te.
Try and get a 2005/2006, as this was the face lifted car, were quite a lot of changes were made.
Alloys, a good number corroded, but again probably been dealt with.
Make sure you get a full service history, and check the oil level. Also dependent on what tyre have been put on the car, generally tells me how it's been treated. Other than that, they are sound cars.

As said already get yourself over onto one of the owner forums. I use Type-R-Owners personally.
Not sure if you need to be a member to read but here are a couple of links.

A few other common issues to be be aware of are a rattle at 3-4k. This is usually just one of the heat shields and most people simply remove to stop the issue.
2nd gear can be hard to engage when cold. Not an issue I have personally but it seems very common.
Grinding/ squealing noise sometimes when starting in the cold. This is more of an annoyance rather than a fault and most people just leave it.
