CRV rear tyre wear

I've recently bought a 05 CRV sport (private sale). The rear nearside tyre is scrubbing off on the outside edge, about 45mm. Anyone experienced this or any pointers.

I'm going out to take the wheel off shortly to inspect bushes etc, but nothing feels clunky or noisy while driving it.
