Warm up a Jazz - Type S?
Discussion
I've just bought a 2014 Jazz 1.4 Si as a cheap runaround so I'm not putting too many miles on my Evora.
First impressions are that it is really good and an fun little drive. I chased a well driven BMW 120D along the A68 and the Jazz was easily quicker in the corners in the wet. The BMW was trying too, as he got a bit too enthusiastic with the power out of a slow corner and the back end stepped out.
I've seen some K20 engine transplant vids, but I was wondering if anyone had made mild performance modifications? Perhaps just some better induction and exhaust on the 1.4 or a modest transplant to a 1.5 or 1.8? Upgraded brakes, springs, dampers, bigger wheels etc...
I don't want to go mad, but a few tweaks would make it absoloutely epic.....thoughts?

Hah! I only spent £2k on the mk2 as a cheap 2nd car so defo not going to go to a mk3 (although perhaps the mk3 could make a good cheap 2nd car in 5 years time
).
I've just watched a US youtube clip where they take a mk2 (a 1.5l), put an aftermarket exhaust, cold air intake, adjustable coilovers, rear anti roll bar, wider alloys & sticky tyres. Parts readily available in the US. I just wondered if anyone had done a mild Jazz enhancement in the UK?
Only seems to be the full K20 transplant from a quick internet/youtube search. From a cost and ethos perspective I'm only after tweaks...

Have a look at Honda Fit tuning as it's big outside Europe.

I'd start with a stiffer rear ARB and a set of decent tyres. Maybe poly bushes. Springs, but only if the OEMs are too soft/high. Dampers if the OEMs are inadequate.
If the air intake is restrictive (probably not?), I would put something together myself.
Likewise for the exhaust.
You may need it re-mapped if they make any difference.
I wouldn't bother with fitting a bigger engine.

Thanks MC, that would probably be enough, better breathing and just a bit sharper/firmer.
The standard air intake is in the engine bay with no obvious cold air intake/vent. I may investigate some US aftermarket options. The car has 4x All Season tyres at the moment which suits its intended purpose for a winter in Scotland. So bigger alloys, sticky summer tyres and an ARB can be a project for next spring.
