Loads of buyers guides and advice on them.

They are good cars. I've had two. Nimh and Lithium variants.

Great little cars, but they rust underneath really badly, the further north you are the worse its gets (usually), north and east Scotland cars
are often now close to scrapping stage. I wouldn't worry about anything else on them, even accident damage, it's all repairable, although not hefty damage
because the chassis on them goes out of alignment fairly easily, so cat N is fine if the underside is reasonably solid.
I got my 'keeper' from way down south where the winter salts aren't so horrendous, and then absolutely stripped it apart and blitzed the underside and inside all box sections with Bilt Hamber products. In 10 years time mine will be one of the few 'minters' still left. Most will go the same way
as the CRX, rotted and crumbled.
So above all else...check underside, diligently.

Don't bother with the white HD10CWJ on 114k miles for sale in warrington. Can’t name the dealer but messaged him yesterday. Arranged a viewing for today. Drove 2:30 hours to go and see it. Car wasn’t there, price on add magically increased by a grand and the penis of a dealer wouldn’t answer the phone. Prick.
I've had mine for 10 years and 80k miles.
Absolutely brilliant little cars and I love mine to bits. Other than service items the only thing needed to be done were new door handles which is a common issue.
Agree about corrosion but plenty of Dynax-ub/UC should help.
Mine is a proper old workhorse now, quite battered and dinged and isn't worth a great deal but I love it.
Mine has the nickel battery which will discharge completely on long hills but that's it.
100% reliable and I would drive it anywhere at the drop of a hat...

Thanks all, I'm looking at one that aesthetically looks like a right heap, but the mileage is sensible, the interior is good, as is the MOT history. No mention of SH though. The vendor has reduced the price significantly over the course of the last 6 months from optimistic to possibly realistic if he can find someone who is handy and intends to keep it. I'm handy enough to get it mint, but I always keep one eye on the likely total cost with something I don't know much about, in case I don't like it and want rid in short order.
I rang up and the current price of £1800 is firm. It's a long way from me, and aside from the obvious, I'd assume the tyres will either be crap makes and / or all different, the brakes will need attention giving how long it's been stood ( no MOT since last year ), so there are potential additional unseen costs that make me want to pay a fair bit less than the asking price.
