Civic temp gauge

2006 honda civic 1.4 petrol temp gauge fluctuating droping very low in traffic.
I know it's very cold at present but I don't think this is normal. Poss thermostat sticking open. Has anybody had the same fault?

Definitely time for a new thermostat if it points hot and cold and all over the place when you're driving under normally.
