Hi everyone,

Currently own a civic type r and well the back breaking ride is killing me. Thinking about a s2000. Whats it like on motorway. Does it cruise along or is it like the civic noise at 4krpm

Cheers rabbie

I drove Glasgow to London and back on both a civic 2.2 icdti and an S2000.
Revs in the S didnt bother me, dont remember even thinking about it or being anoyed in any way. I arrived tired of course, but not achy.

If you mean the FN2 (latest shape) the suspension is way way better on a S. Its crashy ste torsion beam design vs dbl wishbones, or in other words "clunk" vs "thump".

The seats in the S are more comfortable.

imo of course

cheers
S

The seats are comfortable but the engine will be making a bit of noise at nearly 4000rpm while cruising. Have a test drive and see if you like them.

It is noisy , to a point that you will have to have music rediculously loud to hear it .

Talk shows are not an option. Unless of course you drive at 60mph

Not much better when the hard top is on either .

Seating is quite comfortable if you're around 6ft, suspension is fairly soft. Still engine noise as per Civic at motorway speeds and a bit of wind noise. If you've upgraded the stereo, perfectly livable though.

One of the off things I seem to have noticed is that the engine sounds much more refined with the roof down - thought it would be the other way round...

Yes, I'd agree - it's a far happier car with the roof down.

At approx 17mph per 1rpm in sixth gear they don't, Through experience and ownership my Nissan Micra 1.0 makes the same engine noise @ 4K.

You wish, looks like I dropped the 'K' from the rpm.
