i want to get into doing some track days, nothing serious, just some fun days/evenings out on track. i'm based in north london so travel is a factor.

i'm looking for info from you guys about which tracks and trackday organisers you've had good experiences with. i have done session at castle coombe once before and loved it so want to do more.

i'd also like to get some track instruction with a good driver, if anyone can recommend an instructor that doesnt charge too extortionate money for their time, i'd be greatful.

thanks,

Dave.

MSV - they are the trackday element of the company which owns several well known tracks around the country. Very professional staff and run top quality days for novices.

I wouldn't recommend using novice days personally.

There's nothing wrong with being out on track with a lot of guys that have more experience than you and most companies will have instruction available and prioritised to novices which doesn't work so well if they are all novices!

seconded for motorsport events - they're just down the m4 from london so not too bad to get to, most are airfield days which have a lot more runoff for beginners, and there arent as many cars as with some other organisers.
