I went into my local Heine Gericke today to look at helmets for track days.

Now, as I understand it they have to be 22-05 compliant?

There were some (probably all) AGV helmets that didn't have the 22-05 stamp visibly on them - the chap in the shop assured me they were compliant but other brands of helmets did have it on the back, just not these ones.

Would anyone know if they comply with the 22-05 standards?
The thing is, they seemed to be by far the comfiest ones for my head at fairly decent prices.

Cheers.

I have yet to see anywhere that checks helmets.

That said, a guy was stopped from using an Arai at Bedford recently because it was a "motorcross" helmet, it had a pointed chin section but I wasn't sure if it was actually a motorcross lid but either way they wouldn't let him use it so I'd suggest that a conventionally shaped helmet is a good idea.

ECE 22-05 is a minimum standard that you have to achieve to sell helmets in Europe. The AGV will have passed, but there will be a lebel on/in it somewhere. Id be looking for an ACU gold lable on the back/side as well, as this, because this suggests that the lid is up to the old BS6658-A standard (which was acceptable for national racing until a year or so ago, and the same physical spec with a Nomex lining is still good for national and international events).

We (as in me and the salesman) went through the lining of the helmet to find a label with no luck.
They all have the Gold label on the back so should all be ok.
